PBW and copper
« on: July 07, 2018, 12:47:18 pm »
So I have a copper immersion chiller that was looking nasty so I decided to soak in a water and PBW soup for a few days.  When I went to take it out today, this is what it looks like.  Green water and the chiller is "blackened".  Reviewing PBW website, it says its safe to use on copper for soaking purposes.  Any thoughts?

How do you post photos here too?  the Insert Image wont work for me.

You need to upload the image to another photo site and post a link here.  As to your chiller, as you probably know by now, you overdid it.

I soak my copper chiller right after use. But usually for only like 15-20 minutes max while I’m cleaning. If I use a sponge on the chiller it never tarnishes. Then I dunk it in star San for a few minutes.

To upload you need a photo sharing site. Paste the link, it’s like brackets with img, and the link of the photo. I use photo bucket.

Make a 50%/50% water/vinegar solution and soak it in that. It will look like brand new.
