Hi,
Looking for a cheap propane solenoid that I will control with a PID, any suggestions?

I found this one... I think the cheaper/generic valves for water/air wont operate due to low pressure of the input propane?  The propane I will push will be coming out of a "high pressure" propane regulator.   Not sure if that will be enough to have the solenoid operate correctly?

Looking to have a pid control a solenoid that is swithing propane to run a deep fryer   - I will have a continue pilot light as well in the system.

I'm sure there are electric solenoid gas valves used for home furnaces. Those should work.

I’ve been on the Pipefitting and controls side of the HVAC industry for the past 35+ years and my recommendation is to stay as far away from “cheap” components as you can.  Your link points to a control that appears to be appropriate for your needs and it’s only $40.  How much cheaper do you want while still maintaining a safe setup?

I found out today that the high pressure propane regulator is 10 psi.
A lot of the gas valves are in CW or .5 psi... really low pressure.
Will any of them hold 10 psi?

If not I am not sure what other options I have.

I was looking at mechanical gas fryer control valves... but again .... they are rated at .5 psi.

I believe a typical propane regulator will work fine.  They are sold at most HBS stores.  The below link is from MoreBeer, but I’m sure you can find them cheaper elsewhere.  So, you would feed your gas solenoid with this regulator off your propane tank.  You’ll be good to go as long as you don’t loose your pilot.
