blow off tube out the side of a bucket
« on: November 17, 2018, 11:23:07 am »
I want to brew a few small batches and my ferm fridge would fit 5 5 gallon buckets stacked up. However, I can't do that if I have stoplocks or blowoffs coming out the lid. Has anybody ever drilled holes in the side of their buckets near the top for blow off tubes or some kind of elbowed stoplock connection?  I want to put 3 gallon batches in 5 gallon buckets.

Yes, that’s correct.  It’s the same assembly used on the Big Mouth Bubbler with a spigot.  I have one and they work great.  Drill the hole, assemble the valve, attach the tube and open the valve.
