"Poodle Creek".... *snicker*

I snicker every time I say it!  When I moved to OR in 1975, I drove by it and said "Who the heck would ever live on a road named that?"  16 years ago, I found out...me!  Terrible name, beautiful place.  I tell people it's where you go to drown your poodle...sorry, poodle lovers!

LMFAO  Denny, that is way too funny.  Even as a dog lover (I have four, none are poodles though).

"Isles of Langerhans Brewery"

Isles of Langerhans are the part of the pancreas that produces insulin. Mine have been stone dead for many years, so this name is my little joke with myself.
I deserve it for having a hobby that I shouldn't.

Gato Blanco Brewery, in honor of our mostly white cat.

Individual beers get silly names or references to the beer that inspired them, like Broken Hearted Ale for when Bell's pulled out of Illinois -- thank goodness that didn't last.
It's such a fine line between stupid and clever.

One of my favorite comedy groups, Firesign Theater, used to talk about "the far flung Isles of Langerhans"....

Poodles get a raw deal because of their hairdo

Poodles are retrievers or gun dogs, and can still be seen in that role. The poodle is believed to have originated in Germany, where it is known as the Pudel. The English word "poodle" comes from the Low German pudel or puddeln [2], meaning to splash in the water. The breed was standardized in France, where it was commonly used as a water retriever.[3]

I've always loved Standard Poodles - but they get a bad name because of those little yipper lap dogs, which is what most people associate them with. Plus - its just one of those words that are fun to say. ;)

Tumbleweed Brewery.

When I first moved out to where I am, there was a large patch of gray brush out in the field. My wife asked what
it was and I shrugged off as just natural growth. Her curiosity was piqued. It turns out it was a tumbleweed that
had about a 5 foot diameter. Mostly flattened out though. I have an old low resolution picture. I had not
purchased a digital camera yet. I may have to dig it up and post it.

Sounds like a great brewery name!  I would also want to buy wine from there...
Homebrewing isn't my obsession, it's my life calling, there's a difference.
