Bourbon in a shot glass coated w/coke

Pour in coke, swirl it around, pour it out and fill with Bourbon.

For those that like the cold without the dilution from ice, Anyone use those granite "ice" cubes. Stones polished to keep in the freezer and add to the spirit of choice. Cools without adding ice...

Hijack not intended, it just seems to go with the topic.

I suppose one could use any stone that is non reacting, probably has to be igneous. Unless you want a sand and whiskey slushee.

Or some of those really polished stones that you can find in moutiain gift shops...

Actually soapstone makes a lot more sense.  It has a huge heat capacity compared to other stone which is also why it's used in my woodstove at home.

Wouldn't the granite be more vitreous and not absorb flavors?

You guys are way beyond me with what kind of rocks would be best, but I want some of these things for chilling beers . . . I can probably get scraps of granite or soapstone.

If you have ever discussed the appropriate type of rock to be used to chill a beer....You might be a homebrewer.

Does anyone get Beer magazine? There was an article in there about mixing spirits and beer as cocktails...
(trying to direct the hijack back to favorite mixed drinks).
Before you say ewww. Boilermaker, Irish carbomb, sakebomb...Some are for just getting hammered but anyone
succesfully combine some flavorful beer cocktails?

I had some mulled beer in Germany that was excellent - they'd taken a belgium cherry beer and heated it with some spices.  Really nice!

And I recently learned that lager and vodka mixed make an interesting drink :)
