Finally opened Midnight With Krompus.  14.25% and it is velvety chocolate and rich espresso.  The huge boozy finish has got to get better with age.  So far I am loving it, my mother in law already seems drunk...

I'm amazed you have that level of foam in a 14.25% beer. Looks good.

It didn't last long, it was a rough pour, and I used dme and cbc-1 for bottling in this one. I hoped to get that "real wort" carbonation effect but then coped out last min to dme

An APA made with Nugget, Crystal and Santiam and I was very sad to see it go... so tasty and attractive too:

Also, an Oktoberfest I'm drinking tonight:

Looks great and love the spaten glass.

I think I may have... ahem... borrowed that one from a biergarten in Munich.  I hear it's a tradition there for people to... ahem... borrow the glassware.  :D That's a half-liter becher.

My new Ofest - first batch with Brewtan B. Also the first batch using all Barke malts. Wiped the condensation but it's so sticky here that it came right back. Anyway, it's easily the best Ofest I've ever made. Lots of malt complexity and richness with zero crystal. I'm gonna reluctantly say it has 'it'.

Mmm, yum.  That looks nice.  That Barke Pils is so nice and the pic of the ofest I posted last was also 'simple' with no crystal... 50% pils, 50% Munich 2 with one hop addition at 60.  Also, the brewtan is supposed to bump your malt depth a little bit so I totally hear what you're saying.  That looks delicious but stop drinking it... you still have a few weeks to go before the "big party".  Cheers.

Damn, Jon! That looks delicious. Make sure to bottle some from the keg with the beergun for long term aging to see how that Brewtan really holds up in packaging.

Ken - Yeah, it's gonna be tough to stay out of. I have some friends coming over for an Oktoberfest party in 2 or 3  weeks, so I'd better! I used mostly Barke Vienna, with some Barke dark Munich and a little Barke pils. Just crazy good.

Rob - I know how those parties go with a crazy drinkable beer, so I bottled the beers and tucked them away already.  ;D

I'll add that the Barke malts are just outstanding. Rich and full, just excellent. Gonna be hard to brew most lagers without buying them. The price difference isn't crazy by any means. But it's hard not to feel that the Brewtan played a role as well as this beer is vibrant and complex in terms of malt. Won't be able to judge that as anything other than personal feeling until I can do a side by side with a triangle to follow. Though the beer finished @ 1.010 (the FG I like for most lagers except NGP), the malt character is rich and complex.

Here's one I just tapped for the first time:  American Premium Lager. Barke Pils mixed 50/50 with Rahr 2-row, flaked corn, carafoam, Magnum to bitter with one ounce of Hallertau Mitt with 5 minutes left. The color is lighter than it is in the pic and the flavor is silky smooth, malty but balanced. Delicious.

Thought to myself "That's a pretty beer", and I remembered this thread.

Marionberry lambic. In the primary for a year and change, and on fruit for 4 months of that:
