My version of an English bitter. That meaning, I aimed for an English bitter, and I missed the mark slightly. Still a delicious beer though.

You should try Imperial's Rustic strain. It's their equivalent strain to WY3726 (which WYstopped releasing as a PC strain). Really good strain.

You beat me to it Jon. I went back to the WY thread to look up 3726. I'm trying it!  This beer is fantastic, if you like it better, all over it. Dropping off Sun at GF on 65th, maybe they stock Rustic.

good looking beer, and yes, I like darn near any strain better than 565, not because I dislike the flavor, but it was schizophrenic in its behavior. I like the imperial rustic strain from imperial yeast. Way less unpredictability and good flavor without the jello mouthfeel of the French saison strain.

I like the imperial rustic strain from imperial yeast. Way less unpredictability and good flavor without the jello mouthfeel of the French saison strain.

This strain has never given me the funk. Ferments out for me every time. I will say it takes a couple weeks, but finishes around 05 for me. I will try Rustic. Did a split with 566 this time. 566 did zero for me.  Thanks

I've heard several people say similar about the 565 strain-that they never get the classic saison stall. I got it several times before I just said forget it and looked elsewhere, thankfully in recent years many new strains are on the market. Check out the yeast bay and imperial yeast.

I also liked WLP 568 blend. Doesn't get a lot of hype but I've always liked the results I've gotten.

Saison kind of hooks you. Easy to make, and so crushable. I've not used 568 either. Looks like I need to do a split on a batch w all 3. Thanks again

the one time I used imperial rustic in the 60's I got a banana bomb. Now I pitch at 75 and then increase to 85 towards the end.
