This is my take on ‘APA 2.0’. It’s based on SNPA but instead of early/mid/late Cascade additions, all the Cascade additions were added late in the boil. I call it BMPA (Berry Mountain Pale Ale).

For this beer, I used 6 oz in the boil (2 oz ea at 17, 10, & 5 min) and I dry hopped with active fermentation with 2 oz three days prior to fermentation completion (SNPA is not dry hopped).

It has great hop flavor without being bracingly bitter (~68 BU:GU). Even though clearer than this photo seems, it’s not as clear as most of my beers but that is probably due to the 1/2 lb hops (especially the dry hop).

Thanks to Erockrph for suggesting doubling up on hop qty. I really like the flavor of this beer.

Sounds tasty!  I’ve done up to a half pound added after flameout / steeped 20min at 175F for a pale ale bursting with hop flavor.  Cheers!

Hop flavor yes, but not hop bitterness.

In a different glass the clarity improved a bit

Definitely. I use hoppy to mean hop flavor and bitter for IBUs.

looks good. gonna say, being canadian crown whiskey was just always there as a dad's basic whiskey. second most drunk ive ever been was on that.

was given a bottle of some premium version of it a while ago and it was actually a fair bit better than i ever remembered it being.

Export Lager. A bit too malty for the style but delicious none the less.
