Scott Janish West Coast IPA #2

Hats off to Scott! I've only been brewing about a year but this is the best thing that's come out of my fermenter. Absolutely love it. It's the perfect blend of not terribly bitter and citrusy/tropical hoppy.

I wanted to incorporate some Red X malt into a recipe. This is my Pre Prohibition Pilsner with added Red X. Equal parts of pils, rice and red x. I’m not sure I’m sold on the amount used but I like it enough to try again but cutting the percentage of red x by 1/3

Cheers everyone and Happy Sunday!!

I was wondering how this one would turn out. It looks like you still got a decent amount of red even at 1/3 of the grist.

This is my latest light IPA. It's remarkably full bodied and delicious and weighs in around 96 calories and 4 grams carbs.
70% Maris otter, 30 danko rye, wy1450, a wee bit of monk fruit and beano for enzyme. I believe the abv was just under 4%.

Looks great!  How much credit do you give to the yeast for that full-bodyness?  Seems like a great choice for this type of beer.

Sounds like a good one. I need to look into Monk fruit.

I don’t know why there are two pictures, tapatalk is being weird lately.
It’s hard to say how much of a factor the yeast was. Because I am not retired and have quite a few other things that take time I tend to take a kitchen sink approach to getting a desired effect when brewing rather than changing one factor at a time. I am guessing the 1450, the rye, and the monk fruit all contributed to a full mouthfeel. My next brew is going to be a light continental lager with 100% Pilsner malt and monk fruit so that will be a good test for the monk fruit.

Great color on that beer BIG_EIGHT.  Beautiful red color.

Here's another shot of this Two Women-inspired Country Lager from New Glarus.  Keg is probably getting very light.
