Schwarzbier. I got a little advice from a pro down the road and it turned out beautifully. Pils, Munich and Midnight Wheat. (Thx Kieth!)

Wings, sausage, beer and football. What a great day

I wanted to thank you for showing us the beer in its natural environment so to speak, with emphasis on environment rather than the brew itself! While the liquid is great what it adds to life is greatest. Cheers!

My 3% abv märzen beer . Technically it’s a common or hybrid beer using a healthy lutra pitch fermented at 65F and some lagering. The grain bill is spot on perfection and it’s very good. But if I rebrew next year I’ll up the abv to 3.75% and drop the bitterness to balance the beer more toward sweetness.

Why why why God must such tasty brews pop up when I don’t have the time to brew them myself!!!!!!

My way of saying it looks and sounds delicious!!! Pale ale is such a perfect style of beer.

I’ve had much fun making lighter lagers over the past few years.  I can drink several and be in good shape the next day.  Not exactly NA, but on a relative scale, similar result.  They can be quite flavorful.

Looks great. What’s your favorite low abv recipe?

Keep it simple - for a 5 gallon Lichtbier (Pils ) I will use 5-7 lbs of Best Pils (depending on abv sought), 1/2 lb Weyermann Munich I, 1/2 lb Platinumswaen Acidulated Malt, 1 oz Magnum FWH and 1 oz Hallertauer Mittelfruh at 10 min.  Starting with RO and add 3g of CaCL2 and CaSO4 and 1 g Brewtan B.  90 minute mash at 146-148, mash out, 30 minute boil.  For a Helles styled Lichtbier, I will sub in Carahell for the Munich.  Cheers!

This is 97.5% Swaen Lager Malt and 2.5% Copper Malt with 23 IBUs of Spalt Select and fermented with Omega German Lager #1.  I wasn't sure what to call it so I went with LANDBIER.  Quite tasty.

HERE is some info on it.  It's about 30L so it has some color.  I feel like it brings a very deep, malty character so I don't use a high percentage of it in any beer.  Between 5% and maybe 7.5% is about as high as I have gone with it.  The grain itself is hard as a rock.  If you were to chew a few kernels, I feel like you could break a tooth.  :D  But I have used it in small amounts where I wanted a smidge of color and depth.  A very nice & useful tool in our toolbox, IMO.

ok i see know. i know you have been a big proponent of it. it sounds like a caramelized (crystal) version of a biscuit/victory/amber malt?

i have been using a lot of amber over the past 2 or 3 years now.

anyway, i havent seen copper malt available where i am
