I've used Lemondrop in a couple of pale lagers.  I found it far more subtle, less lemon candy, than I expected.  But it is there.  I found it surprisingly almost European in character for a daughter of Cascade.  But I think you'll really like it in that application.

I plan to bitter with 15 IBUs of Magnum at 60, use an oz at 10 min and an oz at 1 min to try to get some lemon flavor and 35 IBUs total. It will be my 100th batch since Alabama legalized brewing.

So I won't ask how many batches total... ;)   I'd have to look at my notes but I bet I did about the same with Magnum and Lemondrop.

Thanks man. Very happy with it although it's a bit unorthodox.

This batch is not that far off the more I think about it. I used to make it with flaked oats but removed that for this batch. It has a touch of brown malt which is obviously not traditional.

This is a Golden Ale I call North Shore (loosely based on Kona’s Big Wave).

37% Maris Otter
54% Pale Ale
9% White Wheat Malt

38 IBU Galaxy all added at 25 min

1318 yeast

OG 1.058
FG 1.016

Yellow Dry water

I hadn't made a Bitter in a couple of years.  Won't make that mistake again!  Very tasty.

For sure, looks so tasty! I feel the same way.  I make them, they go fast and then I wish I had them on tap at all times.  I like the Crisp Chevalier heritage malt for some great twist on Maris Otter.  I think Robert has a thread on here about that malt.

Cheers!
