This feels like you have a keg of Shiner on draft, which is nice.  Some research told me that they use First Gold as a hop but I can't imagine Northern Brewer hurting it.  I have also seen some stories about how the beer is all malt but other information showing that they use 'corn grits' in the beer.  I figure it's an American beer so let's use a smidge of corn.  I would love to hear from anyone who makes it and any tweaks they make.  Seems like there is a bit of wiggle room here.  Cheers Beerheads.

Very nice.  I am making some APAs right now too with White Labs 01.  No one seems to be making a straightforward American Pale Ale anymore.  So we have to make them ourselves.  The one I have fermenting now had some Nugget to bitter and then Ultra and Glacier hops in the whirlpool.  You don't hear those two hops much anymore.  :P

That looks nice.  Care to share what you did?  I make a lot of 'wimpy gold lagers' and I'm always interested in how different brewers attack them.  Cheers.

Quick extract pale ale (Smash-cade I've decided to name it, may try a similar all grain recipe when this runs low).  As someone who has never bothered to clear/filter my beer after brew day, I decided to do a little personal experiment when I brewed a 10 gallon batch of this.  After kegging and cold crashing, added gelatin to one and left the other alone. Needless to say from the picture, I'll be using gelatin to fine my beers from now on.

Not much difference that I could detect.  The cleared beer might have slightly less bitterness than the uncleared one, but that could also just be bias based on the visual. I'd have to do it blind to be sure.  In any event, they're both still very drinkable beers, which is usually all that matters to me lol.
