...  They [Germans] tend to have simple recipes combined with complicated processes.  :D

Never heard it put that way but that’s spot on!

My recipe was probably more complicated than necessary but it ended up meeting my goals. Not sure I’ll ever get to complicated brew process but I’m not against it by any means
On Tap/Bottled: IPL, Adjunct Vienna, Golden Stout, Honey Lager
Fermenting: IPA
Up Next: mexi lager, Germerican pale ale

I have tried doing 90m boils, doing decoctions, etc. but I'm generally not going to be doing that on the long term.  Somewhere in there I did get some better insight about the way German brewers put their recipes together.  They tend to be simple and all the ingredients serve a specific purpose.  I've been brewing since 1999 and in those days you might pick up a book and see recipes with 2-row, wheat, aromatic, victory, crystal 40 and crystal 60, pale chocolate, melanoidin, caravienne and scrambled eggs (okay, I made up that part) and one could assume that this is how beer is made.  It doesn't have to be complicated to achieve its goal.

A day without beer is like... just kidding, I have no idea.

Mine was:
44% Munich II
33% vienna
21% Pilsner
2% honey malt

I understand the honey malt is out of place. I like it

This is the first pull of what I call Mississippi Common Beer. Very close to an American light lager but brewed with a big clean pitch of ale yeast at cooler temperatures. Most of this batch is bound for coworkers who mostly consume BMC.
