Prost here in Denver makes a good pils. A lot of people rave about Bierstadt's as well but I'm not as much of a fan. Weldwerks also puts out a surprisingly good pils despite being known for their pastry stouts and hazy IPAs.

Is that a surprise? I think a great NEIPA is hard to make. I think making any kind of great beer is hard, regardless of style.

Fresh Pilsner Urquell is the finest beer on the planet.

Saaz bomb pilsners FTW. That's also why I've rated Yuengling GP so highly.

A good Saaz bomb pils has all the good points of an IPA, along with a lower ABV and less of a tendency to drown out food. Good stuff.

I have also been on a Pilsner kick lately.  I think Pilsners have been a kind of forgotten style, it seems, but it’s a wonderful beer!  I happen to like the Lagunitas Pils.  It’s full bodied, crisp and refreshing.  Aside from my own Pilsner, Lagunitas Pils is my Go-To Pilsner.

I think it's just on my mind because it's the most recent one I've had.  But I like Pikeland Pils from Sly Fox a lot.

i just picked up some decently fresh bitburger and i personally dont care for it, its bland and uninspiring, i can tell its well made but not even in my top 10 pilsners, i think radeberger is very similar but has a cleaner more refreshing flavor, also just got some not fresh enough Rothaus Pils Tannen Zäpfle and that was pretty darn crisp and enjoyable too expensive though, Prima is still my go to pils, i live in NY and PA is not far so my beer distributor gets very fresh prima

Just caught up with this one tonight.  I thought it looked a little suspicious when I had only seen it as an oddity on the end cap of my local market's beer aisle.   But the beverage steward there assured me it's been well received, though he couldn't vouch for it personally yet (he is a Cicerone, so I usually trust him, and his network of trusted correspondents,  of which I apparently am one.)  And more importantly,  unlike Bitburger or virtually any other import, this one is turning up reasonably fresh around here (the one I tried packaged in January.)  A very solid German Pils.  It's nice to have a fresh one.  Is it on the short list of my favorites?  Can't say yet.  Will I have it again?  Absolutely. Give it a try.  If it's in date, you could do a lot  worse.

Chuckanut and pFriem are my two favorites up here.  Airways Brewing also makes a damn good one (GABF winner, if I recall correctly)

Pilsner Urquell just has too much diacetyl for my palate. 

I am very happy that there are more and more breweries up here in WA that are including good lagers in their lineups. When we had the NHC 1st Round a couple weeks ago at Bosk Brewing, their Marzen was outstanding and it became my go to beer in their lineup.

Another trend I am enjoying is the trend of brewing Pilsners using American and/or Pacific hops -- kind of like a cross between a German Pilsner grain/yeast bill with APA hopping schedule.  Very quaffable and refreshing

A couple of summers ago I had a lot of fun brewing a bunch of these.  I keep returning to more old-fogeyish hops as my preference, but these can be very enjoyable beers, and I really don't see why the Pilsner style should be any less subject to evolving than any other.
