This post caught my attention

It seems to me the old "bios" board is obsolete, as the feature on the site it was meant to feed is long deceased.   It also occurs to me that we are really interested in expanding the community.   Is there any possibility that the forum could add a place for new members to introduce themselves and be welcomed, a common feature on other forums,  or is the structure we have completely calcified at this point?   I'd love to see us present a more welcoming face to new members.
