Membership verification

Is there a way to verify AHA membership? Our club requires AHA membership so we want to be able to verify that a new member is an actual AHA paying member.

Have them show you an ID card? or the card on Brew Guru.

Hi all -

The AHA doesn't have any way for clubs to automatically view the AHA members that are a part of their club. I just have to send you the list via email upon your request.

You’re welcome to contact me at any time to request an updated list... So please do so often!

I'm happy to answer any questions. Thanks, all!

Why require AHA membership?
Note: I'm NOT against being a member. But why require AHA membership to be in your club?

Or is this a requirement for the club insurance plan?

AHA membership is not required to qualify a club for the insurance plan.  The ins. co. does request a roster of members, however,

If our club required AHA membership, we wouldn't have very many members.

My club requires AHA membership. There are no club dues. I wasn’t bothered by the requirement since I was already an AHA member.

I have never asked how the AHA requirement came about.

Our club's AHA membership surges when there's a HombrewCon in town, then it drops back to about 50%
