What is it with ukuleles and beer?
« on: May 29, 2019, 06:54:21 am »
I thought the connection was uniquely embodied in Denny.  Then this morning I read this in the weekly beer notes in my local paper:

"Hoppin' Frog Brewery, 1680 E. Waterloo Road, Akron, will host a 'Strum and Sip' class from 6 to 8 p.m. June 10 with people learning to play the ukulele while having a beer.
The class will be taught by a musician from the Rising Star Center for the Arts in Akron. People can bring their own instrument or use one provided.
Tickets are $25..."

I'd rather have questions I can't answer than answers I can't question.

I never made the ukulele/beer connection but it sounds like fun. When I see or hear Denny play I think of Tiny Tim singing Tip Toe thru the Tulips.

I went to a bar in Dublin that holds a big uke get-together every Tuesday night. People from around the world were there. It was packed. Good time!

Wow!  He certainly does!  I’ll never think of the ukulele the same way again after that performance.

My landlord's roommate just got a ukulele for her birthday. I'm not sure yet if that's good or bad.

I guess it's better than an accordion.

Or bagpipes.

Hey now, some of us love bagpipes, I don't think I'd want front row seats to someone just learning to play them though.
I spent most of my money on beer, tools and guns, the rest I foolishly squandered on stupid stuff!
