Hi, does anybody know cell count for omega yeast OYL-004?

Im brewing and 1.067 OG IPA, and Omega recommends me to do a starter but they dont disclosure the exact cell count in each package,so i dont know how much growth i need. Can anybody give me advice?

I was just looking into their cell counts yesterday. Their website says approx 150 billion cells is the minimum. Although it depends on the yeast strain.

As Chris White said to me, "homebrewers are too hung up on numbers".  If you make a 1 qt. SNS starter you'll be good.

Assuming the 150-500 billion from the site is accurate, I wouldn't bother with a starter assuming this is a 5 gal batch.

Depends on how fresh the yeast is and if you trust it was well handled in shipping.  When in doubt the 1 qt to wake it up can't hurt.
