Looks like grains of rice in fermenter??
« on: August 26, 2019, 09:14:40 pm »
I am brewing an extract oktoberfest style beer. I let it sit in the primary for about 8 days until the airlock had pretty much no activity. I transferred to a secondary just to clear it up some and it’s been in secondary for about 6 days. What I’m concerned about is that it looks like there’s “rice” floating in it. Is this something to worry about?

Nothing to worry about.  I also had that happen to a batch about 5 years ago.  I was told that those were  “yeast rafts” floating on top of the beer.  If you stir the beer a little they’ll sink to the bottom.
