Great hop harvest this year!
« on: August 22, 2010, 06:25:51 pm »
I got 2.4 lbs (wet) out of four bines this year!  They're either cascade or centennial (I got the rhizomes mixed up a few years ago...oops).  Looking forward to brewing a harvest ale with them next weekend.  8)

That is music to my eyes....

They are some beautiful hops.  I need to harvest mine a.s.a.p.
My Cascade hops are ready.

It's a beautiful thing...isn't it.

Oh yeah.  I wasn't even planning on harvesting this weekend.  But when they're ready, they're ready!

Congradulations, those look great! How do you know when they are ready? I am going to get my first yeald this year and am not sure of when they are " ready ". I live in Eastern Washington if that matters.

Thanks

JP

Started my Cascade harvest yesterday.  I only harvest as much as my food dehydrator will hold at one time, so it's gonna take a while.  I got a lb. (wet) yesterday, and you can't even tell I touched the plant.
