Here’s a few. I listened to all on Audible.

The Butchering Art: Lindsey Fitzharris
This book is about surgery in the 19th century and Joseph Lister’s work on antiseptics. It’s great.

The Right Stuff: Tom Wolfe
This book was the basis of the Right Stuff movie. The book is so much better.

Columbus Day: Craig Alanson
This is a great science fiction series. The hero discovers an artificial intelligence. Together they kick alien butt. Page turner and hilarious. The whole series is awesome.

We are Legion: We are Bob: Dennis E Taylor
In this book our hero is a man whose consciousness is placed into a computer. He is then launched into space as an interstellar probe. Lots of 3D printing, virtual reality, and he clones himself (many times). This book is also hilarious.

If you are looking at nonfiction books, I highly recommend "Say Nothing: A True Story of Murder and Memory in Northern Ireland" by Patrick Keefe.

"The Collapsing Empire" by John Scalzy, sci-fi fantasy. The characters swear a lot.

I just reread "1984". Depressing.

"The Pueblo Revolt: The Secret Rebellion That Drove the Spaniards Out of the Southwest" by David Roberts if you want some history.

It's an oldie, and much better than the movie. Catch 22 by Joseph Heller.
Anything by Steinbeck that you haven't read.
Beer is my bucket list,

Dune by Frank Herbert. It's not exactly light beach reading but it's an awesome series.

Another John Scalzi recommendation: Old Man’s War.  Military science fiction.  Aside from being extremely entertaining, it confronts you with issues that define us as people.  Friendship, marriage, love, aging, mortality.  Good stuff.

Empire of the Summer Moon by S.C. Gwynne if you're into history, hell, even if you're not into history. One of the best books I've read in 20 years, hard to put down.
I spent most of my money on beer, tools and guns, the rest I foolishly squandered on stupid stuff!

Not a book, but how about reading the Federalist Papers, the Bill of Rights,Declaration of Independence and General George Washingtons farewell address.

For me at least, that's the kind of words I want to read!
