Brewing Tattoo?
« on: August 23, 2010, 10:32:26 am »
Hi Guys, I currently have one tattoo ( a valknut with the Norse runes around it) and am starting to think about my next one. I don't get a lot of tattoos, it took me 6 years of thinking it over before I got my first. I think over the years brewing has become an important and happy aspect of my life worth capturing in some way as a tattoo, but I am having trouble conceptualizing what it could look like. I don't want something obnoxious like a huge tankard of ale or anything like that. I was thinking something along the lines of the AHA logo but without the letters maybe, not sure. Have any of you ever seen any good brew/brewing related tattoos?

I think you should get Charlie Papzian's face across your back, as big as possible with the letters "RDWHAHB" arched over his head. That would look awesome!

I think a stylized hop cone/bine would look good. Take a gander at this label designed by a tattoo artist:

A friend of mine has a big hopcone on one shoulder, with bines around it.  I've never taken a really good look at it, but from what I've seen it looks pretty cool.

I've seen her too.  It's not polite to stare.

I saw a guy at a phish show once who had the word "beer" tattooed across his lower back in gothic lettering.

Gothic RDWHAHB across the stomach gangbanger style.   :o

I like the hop-bine. It's what first came to mind.
