I guess we should all get away from calling it a secondary.  It is more of a "brite tank" vessel, if you are still transferring from the fermenter.

+1 to this.  I think the term "secondary" is just so ingrained that the word is used even when secondary fermentation isn't the function anymore.

It depends on the purpose.  It you add fruit or other fermentables, it's a secondary fermenter.
