i am about to make a 1 gallon batch of mead for the first time, i brew beer so i have wyeast yeast nutrients on hand. would that yeast nutrient work for making mead? thank you

Yep. One of the main things you want in a nutrient for mead is nitrogen. According to the Wyeast website, their nutrient does include nitrogen. It should work just fine.
