One Wort Made Into 3 Beers
« on: May 09, 2023, 08:02:32 pm »
For Big Brew Day, my homebrew club got together with a local brewery and made 250 gallons of wort of the Nearly Nirvana Pale Ale. We divided the wort among many different homebrewers. Some picked up their wort and took it home to finish and some brewed at the back of the brewery. Some followed the recipe and others added different hops, DME, and yeast. I decided to mix up three different 5-gallon batches. I boiled 10 gallons at the brewery and split that with BRY 97 and WLP 530 Abbey Ale. The third batch of 5 gallons I did not boil or add hops and pitched Philly Sour. After 3 days, I boiled for 30 minutes and added some Azzaca hops and WLP 05 British Ale. Our Homebrew Club plans on tasting the different variations of this single wort at our June meeting. It should be interesting.

That sounds like a great club and a lot of fun.
