Anyone got a good recipe or tips? Planning to take a good Alt recipe and pretty much just bump up the OG and IBUs
On Tap/Bottled: IPL, Adjunct Vienna, Golden Stout, Honey Lager
Fermenting: IPA
Up Next: mexi lager, Germerican pale ale

That's pretty much what I do.  Plus maybe some late hops.

First Draft (going with ingredients I have on hand):
80% pilsner
14% munich
4% caramunich II
2% carafa special II

1.067

Bitter to 50 IBU or above (schedule undetermined)
Herkules bittering
combo of sterling and hallertau mitt for flavor/aroma (see above)

M54 Cali Lager repitch

Not many options. I know you're not a fan of US05 but do you think that would fair better? 34/70?

I'd go with 34/70 over the other 2.

If M54 is really K-97, it should turn out well.  I haven't used M54 yet to know for sure.  But I know K-97 well.  It's pretty clean for an ale except for the sulfur.

I'm with you.  It was Ok, but didn't impress me enough to make me want to use it beyond curiosity.

And "nailing it" is kinda a matter of opinion, since they're rarely made and everyone seems to have their own interpretation
