Is there suppose to be a spring in the perlick 630? What keeps the handle back so nothing flows out?

The pressure of the beer pushing the valve against an o-ring is supposed to keep it closed and leak free.

I read somewhere that you can put springs in Perlick 630 faucets to make them self-closing. They aren't standard.
