On the Forum home-page, under the drop-down bar, there are 2 boxes of information that constantly flash changing info.  The flashing in annoying, distracting and very hard on my eyes.  How about a gentle fade-in, fade-out?

I'm gonna second this proposal - - could be a little less harsh. Yes, attention grabbing - but also a bit annoying.
