Serving from keg that was used for fermenting
« on: May 22, 2020, 06:25:51 PM »
Greetings,

I'm doing my first fermentation in the keg.  Does anyone also serve from that keg, or does everyone transfer to a serving keg.
Some day we'll look back on this and it will all seem funny

I don’t keg but my good pal Die Beerery and many others from our forum transfer to serving vessels to spund and dispense the beer.

He will chime in for sure.

Did you notice any off flavors from yeast autolysis when served from he keg it was fermented in, Denny?

Nope.  I try to blow out all the trub I can first.

I'll rig up a jumper.  I have 20 miles of various tubing, but never seem to have the size I need.  I have been spunding, the gas release woke the dog up at 3 am one day.  I do have the clear draught system (floating dip tube), so maybe that would help if I decide to serve in the same keg.

Yea you’d think he would have popped up by now. I wonder if there is something wrong with his account?
