need a favor - hop photography
« on: August 30, 2010, 08:48:29 am »
I am trying to design a label for my IPA and I need a good picture of either a hop bine, hop cone, or a hand full/pile of fresh hops. Due to the heat wave my hops did terrible this year (that and fact I didn't water them - oops.)

Any help would be appreciated.

Dude .... yeah. I need a high res image not a 72 dpi web image. This is for print. That said, I forgive you for not being a graphic designer.  ;)

I'm not a graphic designer either, but how about...

I might could use that, not exactly what I was looking for though. Need it for a background, so I was hoping a pile of hops or something..

It would be awesome if you knew someone who was opening a brewery, maybe someone who may be ordering a large amount of hops and had some graphic design experience  ;D

Perhaps you can have one of your graphic design buddies search their stock photo catalogs? There is bound to be some hi res hop photos out there.

I have about 75 lbs of hops at the brewery right now. Problem is they are all pellets. I think I will search through some magazines. I can probably find something there.

Keith, is your preference for harvested hop cones or hops on the vine?  If you want hops on the vine I could take a picture tonight of an overgrown centennial that is engulfing a trellis near our property.
I have also been given premissin to harvest it. I was planning on the weekend but could speed things up if necessary...

At this point whatever you can get me would be appreciated. Preferably close up detail. If you can get them on the vine that will be great. And if you can get another after they are harvested I'd like to look at that too. Don't go out of your way to harvest them before you have the time, though. And thanks!

I'll snap a photo tonight.  Can I email photos through this website?

On that site I linked earlier, there're some jpegs from Wildcrafter dated 08/04 (page 3 I think) that are 47 to 67 KB in size.  Wouldn't that be enough resolution?  Obviously I'm not a techie, but there they are.
