Kegerator Line Cleaner over the weekend?
« on: August 07, 2020, 06:21:53 pm »
Is there any harm in leaving the kegerator lines filled with draft line cleaner for two or three days?  My kegerator has been weird lately. Temperature trying to freeze my beer one day and then at the same setting going from 30 to 36 the next day. So I thought I would take everything out and defrost it. During that time I just wanted to leave line Cleaner in for a couple days..?
I am a great believer in luck, and I find the harder I work, the more I have of it.

Long contact with acid could soften PVC tubing. I know that StarSand does it.

There is another thing to consider. Accidental drinking of the cleaner. You would have to make sure that would not happened. Lock out/ tag out sort of thing.

My draft line cleaner is alkaline.

If using an alkaline solution, you are likely OK, but I'm not sure why you would want to leave it in there that long. I would drain it and use a acid-based sanitizer before use.
