Was making my first beer.  Its a Mr. BEER KIT.  Everything went great.  However...  I realized I used the little gold packet of yeast in the can.  Not the one that came with the recipe.  I also didn't activate it by putting it in warm water.  I just sprinkled it into the keg.  What should I do?  Should I use the one that goes with the recipe?

No problem.  There's really no need to rehydrate the yeast.  As long as it ferments, you're good.

I don't know...what does the package say?  It probably doesn't matter a whole lot.  Just keep brewing and learning!

Then I wouldn't worry about it too much.

There is an age old mantra for homebrewers that goes: Relax, Don't Worry. Have A Homebrew. Different yeast can give you different characteristics and some yeasts may be better to use in certain styles. But in general using a yeast other than what the recipe calls for is not the end of the world.
