I’ve not had the beer but being a fan of pecan pie and porter I have ideas. I’d do something like a pretty straightforward brown porter. Perhap:
9 lb maris otter
1 lb brown malt
6 oz special roast
4-6 oz black prinz
Add 1/2-1 lb carapils for foam stability to fight the pecan oils

Now for the magic my local makes an excellent pecan brown ale. Get lightly roast pecan halves in the oven being very careful not to burn them. Chop/mascerate before use. I’d dose 1 lb in the mash, as lazy magnolia does, then place another 1 lb in the kettle at flameout.

Ferment with cal ale or Nottingham then add vanilla to taste at bottling. If you wanted it sweeter, i wouldn’t, you could use lactose.

Cheers!
