I've read "How to brew" and "the complete joy" I'm a bit of a book worm and am interested in getting into lagering, looking for some suggestions for some informative reading material.

When I go to the LHBS I hear lots of questions and such that could be simply answered by reading a little, It seems to me if you wanted to get into a hobby or something like brewing people would read a little. I'm all about putting in effort and helping others but You can't teach someone how to brew beer in a 3 minute conversation. Knowledge is power

Denny and Drew’s books are great and very readable. If you want to focus on lagers, Dave Carpenter put out a book a few years back:

I’d say read as much as you can, if that is your favored mode of learning, but ultimately brew as often as you can (smaller batches allow for frequent brewing)!  Cheers!

Denny and Drew's books and Dave's were some of the few I saved when I had to massively downsize a few years ago.

I like Brewing Classic Styles.  It doesn't have the newest styles, but it has recipes and explanations of many styles.

For more advanced and detailed reading the Brewing Elements series features a book each on Malt, Hops, Yeast and Water. Available through Brewers Publications as well as from most major book sellers.

not a book suggestion, but I've found that joining a homebrew club is one of the best ways to learn and improve as a brewer.

Not at the moment, I approached the club that is ran at my LHBS, it's not really my "local" store as it's over an hour away. I prefer that place over the one that's 20 minutes away lol. They are hoping to start having meetings and such again in the spring
