I get a very slight coffee/cocoa thing out of it, which would be really nice in a Baltic porter or schwarzbier methinks.

I get mint/annis/sage from the pellets themselves. I don't mind these flavors as food seasonings, but I definitely don't want them in my beer :-O

unpleasant sage would be a good descriptor I guess. Its very unpleasant, I wish Sierra Nevada would quit using it as a dry hop.

+1 on Sterling. If you like Saaz, Sterling is a good US grown substitute.
