Lager Exothermic Reaction
« on: September 06, 2010, 08:39:08 am »
FWIW, The WY 2001 lager yeast is indicating a 6 degree rise as a result of exothermic reaction.

Fermentor internal wort temp 48 . . ferment chamber temp 42. This is an 11 gallon batch of Pilsner Urquell with twin 1 gallon starters pitched. Good fermentation after 18 hours.
Just brew it...

Thank you for posting.
I do like 2001 yeast.

About yeast starter for 11 gal.
Should not you have 2 gal starter?
I usually pitch 4 liter starter into 5.5 gal of wort.

Is not twin 1 gallon starters the same as a single 2 gallon starter?
Just brew it...
