This thread was pretty fascinating.

Denny, did you ever perfect the "American Mild"?  Or some type of low gravity American Pale?  This idea is now on my "To Brew" list.

Yeah, I'd say the final version was right where I wanted it.  If the recipe isn't in this thread and you'd like it, let me know.

Awesome...Thanks for that.  Conceptually, I do like this version better than where you started out.  I wasn't sold on the Special Roast though I completely understand why you started there. It must have been a lot of fun getting to this final recipe.. :)

3 Floyds in NW Indiana used to put out a beer they called Pride And Joy and called it a Mild. It was only "mild" compared to everything else they put out but it was one of my favorite beers by them. It was just as Denny indicated, a very hoppy smaller APA. It was as low ABV, this was still at least 5%. I wish they still put it out, even at the brewery it is a rarely on tap. This thread makes me want to try my hand at it for my own version.

That does look like a good recipe. I’ve not used the debittered hop products, this may be a good opportunity.

The most important part seems to be to use  good craft malt.  I made maybe 4 tries using normal commercial malt and just couldn't get any flavor.

Easy now.. been making these for decades now.
Mostly just to get the yeast cake for a bigger beer
