It is with great pleasure we announce: SB234 has been signed!

Free the Hops, Alabama's craft beer advocates, are pleased to announce that Senate Bill 234, the Growler Privacy Bill, has been signed into law by Governor Ivey and will take effect Aug 1, 2017. It is now called: Act 2017-404

This bill, sponsored by Senator Bill Holtzclaw, alleviates the regulatory burden requiring Alabama breweries and brewpubs to collect intrusive personal information from customers when purchasing products to-go.  We applaud this common sense legislation that protects consumer interests and supports local breweries.

We would like to thank Senator Holzclaw for supporting this Bill all the way to the Governor's office, the newly appointed Governor Ivey for signing it, and for each of you whom reached out to your Representatives in Montgomery to show your support for this much needed amendment.

This proves once again that the consumers in Alabama have a voice and it is being heard. Free The Hops is proud to a part of your ranks!

I am still waiting for a similar bill for Minnesota. I moved in here a couple of years ago and the laws are kind of ... really strict in this domain. When I moved in here back in 2018, I did not know anything about the laws regarding  breweries and brewpubs in this State.  I was hoping that this law would be similar to the one from Alabama, however it is not. I had some terrible problems because of that. I had to call for the services of the best lawyers firm online as they have some of the best specialists in this domain.
