Tommy and I, as computer engineers, may not be that smart, but at least we know the difference between a half adder and a full adder as well as the cost in terms of silicon of a barrel shifter versus a normal shift register. :)

I do know that but I suspect that may get lost in the shuffle for a lot our graduates. I worked in chip design for Texas Instruments for 17 years. These days most computer engineers, in Huntsville at least, end up in software development albeit often for embedded systems.
