Hop help for hazy
« on: October 14, 2021, 07:01:05 pm »
Somewhere I found a great hops reference source.  It detailed hop flavors and which hops worked better at flameout vs dryhop for flavor/aroma extraction.  I downloaded it, but to my horror, must not have saved it.  I have searched this forum many times but just can't find it.  Does anybody remember this download?  Please repost it if you have it.

If you use a Windows PC, try using the integrated search function. If you're not sure of the title, try a few key words.

If you downloaded the file, it saved somewhere by default, even if you didn't enter a destination. If not to Documents/Downloads, probably to the last destination you specified for previous downloads. I lose downloads fairly often, but they do turn up eventually, or I find them using the search function.

It sounds like "Hop Survivables".

Search on that, you will find a handbook in pdf form from Yakima Chief, and Scott Janish has written about it.

Yup, it was Survivables.  Thank you.  Also like the chart from Redrocker, thank you also.  FWIW when I ran a file search using Yakima Chief it came up.

FWIW, I made my last 2 IPAs in accordance with that chart and was really happy with the results.

+1 I just tapped an Amber using Cryo hops and the information. WOW!  …what a difference.

Though the strength puts it in the Amber Ale style, this drinks like probably the nicest IPA I’ve ever brewed.
