Lager Finder
« on: May 05, 2022, 11:39:06 am »
My friend Mark Stober has started a website to help people find lager-centric breweries.  http://www.lagerfinder.com/
I know I have to do quite a bit of research when I arrive in a new city to find the type of brewery or brewpub that offers beer that I want to order.  This is a start.
He will appreciate suggestions.

I suggested Live Oak in Austin, Urban Chestnut in Saint Louis and Mecklenburg Gardens in Charlotte.
I wanted him to include Green Bench in St. Pete, but he seemed reluctant to include breweries that were not lager-centric, even if they make great lagers.

What an excellent idea!  If/when I get some free time, I can submit a few dozen locations that I'm aware of, as I'm constantly hunting for the best lagers.

Live Oak and ABGB are in there, my favorites  in TX.

I think you mean Olde Mecklenburg Brewery in Charlotte. There's also The Mason Jar Lager Company in Fuquay-Varina, NC. We may have some others, but I'd have to think about it a bit.

With respect to Olde Mecklenburg and Charlotte... I explored half the breweries there on a business trip prior to the pandemic that should not be named, and...

While it's not really a "lager" brewery, I found the Soma Pils at Town Brewing to be world-class.
