 We have this "Moonshiner's reunion" <http://moonshiners.com/>every 1st Friday and Saturday in October in Campobello,S..C. (Camp'beller in local vernacular) and it displays our refined upper social upbringing that has been so misunderstood by everyone outside our local area wrongly that defines us as red necks and hicks.

 We even got folks in our state that has been certified with a P.H.D. (Post Hole Diggers) so all of you uppity folk had better back off Tubercle, unless he come find you and teach you some culture.

No, just beer, I'm sure the folks down here would be in awe with which you brew. There may be the occasional jar floating around, so I'm told ( I jest, that would be illegal, wouldn't it ) and the way way you cook, your awesome magic on a grill, you could be considered a god, just like Cortez was to the Aztecs.

 I challenge you now, and if you are willing to take it, to come to South Carolina, to the 2011 Moonshiner's Reunion, bring your family as a vacation, held on the 1st weekend in  October, to experience all the we have to offer. Are you up to the challenge? It's a vacation I promise you will never forget. I plan to cook chili beans. What you going to bring that will beat that?

Oh man, here's a slice of down home Georgia fun.  In '96 I went to the Olympics in Atlanta.  I stayed at a buddy's house in Lawrenceville.  He took me to some friend of his about a half hour away in the sticks.  It was unbelievable, like a caricature of down home southern livin.  It was like a mobile home park, but with bigger lots.  The place was like a non stop block party.  There were two guys building a flat roof thing over the trailer door and putting down regular 3 tab shingles on a roof with no slope.  The neighbor had his mud buggy at the mud bog the night before, so he was cleaning the heinous red mud off his buggy.  The buggy was on a trailer.  Of course, he didn't need ramps to unload it- he just fired it up and gassed it off the back of the trailer.  The topper to the whole scene was that there were 2 girls, about 12 or 13 years old, wrasslin in a baby pool.  The boys were enjoying the show too much for me.  It still doesn't seem real.

One thing I will say about the south is that we have the best food in the states, which is a good reason why we have the fattest people in the nation as well. Everyone else tries to emulate - but you simply can't get BBQ this good anywhere else. Sorry folks.

Grew up in the far southwest corner of Louisiana so made fun of Texas instead; however Louisiana really can't make fun of anyone... except for Arkansas and Mississippi since those two are the only two states that consistently rank last with them on most polls and studies.

Went to college in Monroe, LA in the NE part of the state and experienced what I had always heard growing up, that if you get much farther north of I-10 it really isn’t Louisiana anymore it’s really just an extension of AR and MS. The food and the culture are fairly different from north to south, and the difference is with the Cajuns in the south.

Why do all the trees in Louisiana tilt to the west?
