A friend of mine said "That guy sounds like he's from South Retardistan"

I'm still laughing about it two days later.  I couldn't remember exactly what he'd said so the next day I asked "Was it East Retardistan?"  He said "No, South Retardistan.  They're always dumber in the south."   ;D

Come on, we all know what it is really like down there. Lets just say,I for one am never going on a canoe trip down there that is for sure.

He got a real pretty mouth ain't he?

And speaking of canoe trips...
The reason why the St.Johns River flows from South to North Florida is because Georgia sucks.(Georgia gets it from the north and the south).

No, New Mexico is south of me, but I leave it alone.  Utah, Nebrasksa and Wyoming are the source of my jokes.

Before I moved to the South I had a certain amount of prejudice against it. Now, the longer I live here the more I realize what a bunch of knuckleheads all ya'll are.  ;)

In Bayern geh'n die Uhren anders.

"In Bavaria the clocks go differently." (run backwards)

The rest of Germany (to the north) look on Bavarians as being backwards.  A fact Bavarians are proud of.

I was giving a beer talk earlier this month and mentioned something like "a type of yeast used in some German beers that gives banana and clove flavors".  A woman challenged me (nicely) on it afterward and said there are no German beers that taste like banana.  I said Bavarian hefeweizen and she said "Oh, that's Bavaria, that's not Germany."  :)

When I was in Australia, the people in New South Wales (Sydney) were making fun of the people in Victoria (Melbourne) in the same way. They even said "we're going to Mexico" --I said "huh?" -- they said "south of the border.". Amusing to me since south there is colder. People from Victoria were dressed as banditos for club night. That was even more amusing.  Imagine Pancho Villa with white labs tubes in a bandolier.

Yep, that's accurate...Bavarians consider themselves as seperate and better. Meanwhile, the other half of Southern Germany, Swabia, is regarded by the North as...well, to use an American term, a bunch of bumpkins. Funny thing too...Swabians are easily recognized by their accent and Swabish words...just as we in the southern US often are 'given away' by our accent and vocabulary.

It's the same here on Hawaii Island.  I did not invent the name punatic.
However taking a slur and turning it into a badge of honor sends a message.

I remember an incident at a homebrew compettion one time where the awards ceremony MC announced, "Those guys from Florida sure don't know much about first place."  Well, we made that our slogan and came back the next year and took nearly all of their first places and their coveted club cup too.

In Slovakia, The Bratislava side of the country makes fun of the Kosice side and vice versa. Some people are serious claiming that the people on the other side are simply "no good".

Guess this stupidity exists everywhere.
