Vacuum sealed grains? How long are they good for?
« on: December 11, 2021, 06:06:00 pm »
I vacuum seal small amounts of UNCRUSHED grains for further use. Just found some chocolate malt it’s over a year old but still vacuum sealed nicely. Only using 6 ounces in a porter.  Do you guys think it is still fresh to use, or should I just buy some more? Thanks.

I am a great believer in luck, and I find the harder I work, the more I have of it.

I would say use it, for sure.

But…I would chew on a couple of grains just to make sure they don’t taste stale.  They won’t.

I have vacuum sealed small amounts, from 1 to 2 pounds. They will keep for a long time, based on my experience. At least a couple years or longer.
