Looking to invest in a conical fermenter any recommendations? Would also like to start force carbonating so is there a conical fermenter that’s would be better to do both

I have 2 spike conicals. A CF15 & CF30. I have zero complaints about them. Paired with a glycol chiller and temp controls it can advance your beers. As far as force carbonating, I bought the carb stone but never use it now because I force carb in the keg.

The BrewBuilt X1 Uni+ lets you ferment, carbonate and serve in the same vessel. Some nice bells and whistles.

Not sure why you feel the need to have a conical.  You can get a pressure capable fermenter with floating diptube for a fraction of the price of pressurizable stainless conicals.

For example:  https://www.morebeer.com/products/fermzilla-rounder-fermenter-79-gal-30.html

I found this and the kegmenter to both work great.  YMMV.  Cheers.

If one prefers stainless over plastic that could be a reason.

The Kegmenter is stainless and accepts a floating diptube and is pressure fermentation capable.  Sometimes people choose both.

I have the FermZilla sized for 5-6 gallon batches. It does everything I want a conical to do and is a much better price than stainless. Also lighter and easier to move around.

I love my Spike 15 gal conical.  I paired it with a homemade glycol chiller and controller, so now temperature control is easy.  I can take samples without risking infection or O2 ingress.  Can easily dump trub or dry hop sludge.  Half way through ferment I switch to a spunding valve, so I get partially carbonated before I keg.  It even washes itself out (with a CIP ball and a pump).  It was a worthwhile investment.
Far better to dare mighty things....

We have three conicals, three semi-conicals, and two plastic ferment vessels.

The Delta 8 gallon Fermtank is really nice. You can do pressure transfers, and easily harvest yeast through the large port valve on the bottom.
https://www.deltabrewingsystems.com/collections/fermentation

The Anvil is nice when you don't need a large volume, and we have three of the 4 gallon fermenters.
https://www.anvilbrewing.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=+p+anv+fv+4gal&amnoroute

But here is my favorite, and it is food grade plastic. Brewcraft Genesis. These are lightweight, very easy to handle even when full with 5.5 gallons. And these will easily fit side-by-side in a 7 cubic foot chest freezer.

A big thanks to Denny, as he recommended these to me over a year ago. Got them on sale...for $14 each. That included free shipping! Now we wish we would have bought 6! These are not conical, but they are more user friendly than my stainless steel conicals.

We always carbonate the beer in the keg.

edit: As I was looking over the above websites, severe sticker shock has set in. The prices have skyrocketed by as much as 20 to 30 percent. Dang!

I have a 7 gallon so brewtech, but I wish I had Spike instead. The lid seems more secure. Had the lid blow off of my ss brewtech when fermenting a very active Belgian dark strong.

I'm with majorvices here. I've been using a 30-liter Fermzilla All Rounder for several months and couldn't be happier with it. Not only is it light weight, relatively inexpensive and capable of pressure fermentation, but also easy to clean and, unlike stainless, you can see what's going on inside.
Beer is my bucket list,

Though I rarely even go downstairs to look at the fermenter during fermentation anymore, I would say the weakest link in my all stainless fermenter is lack of a window.

I have often contemplated adding one with a Triclamp bulkhead fitting so it can serve as a dry hop port but I’ve yet to do it.

No worries, mate. We just quickly pop the lid off, for a quick peak and maybe a sample. Never caused any problems.
