I'm about ready to empty my 12 gallon Motor City Gas Wheated Bourbon Barrel for the second time. The first batch was an English Barley Wine and the second a Norwegian Strong Ale. I've decided I simply can't keep brewing batches this large. I have a ridiculous amount of bottles already and need to let this barrel go. I already have an 8 gallon sour barrel, so that'll keep my barrel urges going. I'm sure almost all of the whiskey flavor is gone, but it should still provide a nice amount of oak. It'd probably serve nicely as a sour or wild barrel at this point. You are welcome to the stand I built for it as well if desired. If unable to pick it up I could drop it off within a reasonable distance. I live near the University District in Seattle. I'll happily part with it for free to a fellow homebrewer. I can email photos as well.
