Water pump addition for Brewer's Edge Mash & Boil
« on: March 29, 2022, 06:10:57 am »
Just upgraded from doing extract brewing in a large stock pot to all-grain in a Brewer's Edge Mash & Boil. I know other models have an on-board water pump, but mine does not. Does anyone have plans & necessary hardware for adding one? Because of my own inexperience with plumbing, etc, I'm looking for something that's not overly complex to put together.

Either the Anvil Foundry pump or the Topsflo TDC 5 are good choices.  They would be external to the Mash & Boil unit and separately replaceable.  Be sure to use a GFCI outlet or cord with it in wet conditions.  Cheers.

I wouldn't necessarily add a pump until brewing many batches without it- it's just another variable that might not be worth dealing with until you've got all-grain brewing down.  Sure- other brewers have them, but it doesn't mean that you need one too.  I know it's not what you asked, but I'm offering this up regardless.  Making wort is only a small part of brewing.
