Submersible Wort chiller
« on: April 29, 2022, 03:38:42 pm »
Ok, so I just got my copper wort chiller and have it somewhat rigged up to a pump and igloo cooler so I can use it as a recirculating pump instead of dumping water down the drain.  My question is, how do I clean the chiller for the first time prior to use?  Can I use the same cleaner I use for my buckets and keg?  Should I put it in the dishwasher and let it run there?  I am sure there is some oil residue and stuff on the outside of it that will need to be dealt with prior to my first use, so any input?

Thanks in advance

Dino

Oooops,   nevermind.  Search engine is your friend.  LOL.  Looks like a soak in the cleaner I have, with a good rinse afterwards is all I need.  15 mins in the boiling wort will do the sanitizing for me.  Then afterwards a rinse and dry is about all that is needed.
