Where can we get this years Hops??
« on: September 19, 2010, 12:48:50 PM »
I have been looking all over the net trying to find some 2010 hops....

evidently all the wrong places...or am I just a bit too early???

(I want to get plugs if I can...sterlings seem extra scarce)

Euge beat me to it, but pay attention to the year column, as some are not on yet.

Plugs are made after the end of the harvest, as are pellets.  The harvest should be done, or done very soon.  These are the people who make plugs in the US, no 2010 listed.  Look for the retailer near you.

Gawd! The prices are half what they were last year! Still beer prices remain the same or have gotten more expensive. (end whine)

Once prices go up, they never come back down. :(

I've never ordered from freshhops . . . what is the packaging like?  If I order 10 ounces, does it come as a 10 oz package or are they broken up into smaller amounts?

The hops come vac packed in the amount ordered IIRC. I'm gonna need some flavor hops soon- all I got left are high-alpha. I was impressed with service/shipping last two times so an order is in order...

You have to keep looking at hopsdirect to see it they get more hops in.  They will get bails of hops from other growers later in the season.  Amarillo is an example, as are others.

They had Citra last year, and that was put up on the website after I bought Citra from freshops.  Not on there now, as they are out.  One can also contact them and see if they will have a hop of inerest in the future.
