Hop Rhizomes from AIH
« on: April 28, 2022, 07:05:10 pm »
Anyone ever order hop rhizomes from AIH (homebrewing.org)?

I did a few months ago.

Was charged for the rhizomes.

As of April 28, 2022 no rhizomes recived. Email AIH asking when I can expect the hop rhizomes I ordered especailly since my existing hops are growing away. AIH only replies, "The rhizomes are shipped from the manufacturer". No help at all.

If anyone ordered hop rhizomes from AIH when were the hop rhizomes received?

Thanks.

I did not order my hop plants from AIH, but will say that I just got the ones I ordered last week.  According to the place I ordered from, and please forgive me as I don't remember the name, they could not send them until the last frost or something like that.  So, maybe AIH is waiting for that to happen wherever they get theirs from.  Not much help I know, but I just thought I would throw it out there.

It's been a while since I bought rhizomes but they can't harvest until the ground is workable at the farm and often farms send out in waves based on your zone so you can plant right away. If you ordered this late it may be a supply issue this late into the season.

No, I ordered months ago during the preOrder phase as I'm, at least I thought I was, a good customer.

My hops are growing. They are all currently about 3 feet up the bines.

As of Thursday, May 5, 2022 still no AIH hop rhizomes.

I have heard that after the recent sale of AIH, things aren kinda dicey.  I assume they'll get caught up eventually.

They were sold to the Investment Firm that owns Nortern Brewer and Midwest Supplies.
The in person retail was closed and the inventory moved to another warehouse for internet sales.
That's all I know.

Also AIH and Austin Homebrew are the same.
